Penthouse
The site is located between the majestic Lange Voorhout and residential area "The Willemspark” in The Hague. It consists of an airframe delivered top floor of 230 m2 that our office has designed to the wishes of the owners. The owners wanted their collection of modern art in museum display mode. Therefore, all rooms are interconnected. Especially spectacular is the diagonal line from the living room to the library.
The living room (75 m2), adjacent to a large terrace (55 m2), is located on the south side. The library (36 m2) with its high windows above, focused on the north, and partly with a suspended ceiling, has a whole different atmosphere. The kitchen breathes with its enamel finish, lighting and materials in the atmosphere of a Cadillac, as the lady of the house observed.
The bedroom has storage cupboards with sliding doors on both sides, one of them featuring a mirror. Particular attention is paid to the interior and exterior lighting, giving the evening its own atmosphere.
The glass facade of 3 meters high and 12 meters long demands a solution of both horizontal and vertical screens. The walls are all whitewashed, RAL 9010, while the floors are covered with oak parquet, not unlike a museum can be.
