Haagsche Dynamiek
Passing through the gates of Haagsche Dynamiek as an opponent of soccer club Duno, you become duly impressed by the new housing. The building of solid masonry with its high and sharply sloping roof impresses. Due to the addition of two other social functions the building expresses invincibility.
The two soccer fields of Duno lie somewhat rotated in the sports park. The skeg-like gap has the widest size on the side where you enter the terrain. On this side the building is also the most impressive because of the available width and height. To the rear the building is narrower and lower. The programs of the users are all housed in recognisable volumes. The Sanquin Blood Bank is situated at the front and adds to Duno's awe. In the middle one finds the entrance and changing rooms of the soccer club on the ground floor and the canteen, kitchen and administrative offices on the first floor. At the back, in the wooden volume, houses the kindergarten, which also uses the soccer fields after school.
The site has a non-symmetrical hierarchy. The sunshine and the location of the main field determine the left side of the building as the main side. Here are the main entrances. Also, the terrace of Duno is placed here. A glass tower with an elevator in it marks the entrance of Duno. The asymmetrical roof serves as blinds for the sun and strengthens the image up front. The facades are not incompatible and also have a sloping top. Along with the expressive roof of steel grids they embody the dynamics of the club.
The robust materials support the tough character. The warm red brick fits in the neighbourhood and harmonizes with the wooden facades and the steel roof. Due to the big windows in the so-called living room, the canteen of Duno, one does not have to miss a thing of the matches on both fields. Thanks to a creative chairman who suggested a unique solution for his housing problem, we were given the opportunity to provide the club with an impressive shaped building. It goes without saying that Duno has been in a constant " winners mood” since the opening of its new home.
